NEET UG Re-Exam Result 2026: 11.21 Lakh Candidates Qualify, State and Category Toppers Announced
The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination late on Thursday night. According to the official data, 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied courses. This accounts for approximately 56% of the nearly 20 lakh candidates who appeared for the test.
The examination was conducted on June 21 at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. It was offered in 13 languages. Candidates can check their results and download scorecards from the official website: neet.nta.nic.in.
Women outperformed men, comprising over 58% of the qualified candidates. Among the top scorers, 138 candidates scored above 690 out of 720 marks. Of these, more than 93% were first-time NEET aspirants, and 99% belonged to the 17–19 age group.
The highest score of 715 marks was jointly achieved by Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana. Overall, 19 candidates scored above 700, 1,492 scored 650 or above, 10,160 scored 600 or above, and 90,780 scored 500 or above.
State-wise, Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of qualified candidates at over 1.7 lakh, while Lakshadweep had 43. The top 17 candidates (scoring above 705) hailed from eight states: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. State toppers include Jigmet Yangchan Lamo (Ladakh, 530 marks), Dhruv Tripathi (Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 606 marks), and Fahmida Anees (Lakshadweep, 573 marks).
Category-wise, the number of qualified candidates stands at: General (2.91 lakh), OBC-NCL (5.12 lakh), SC (1.59 lakh), ST (63,716), Gen-EWS (95,026), PwBD (3,666), and PwD (303). The NTA has also published category-wise toppers, cut-off marks, and language-wise participation details on its website.
Counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats in MBBS and BDS programmes will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), while state quota counselling will be managed by respective state authorities. The timely release of results is intended to keep the admission process on schedule.
