NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 3 Results Declared: 4,687 Fresh Seats Allotted, 5,169 Upgraded
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the provisional seat allotment result for Round 3 of NEET UG Counselling 2026. Candidates who took part in this round can check their allotment status on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
According to the provisional seat allotment document, 4,687 candidates received a fresh seat in the third round. These candidates are marked as "fresh allotted in third round" in the list. In addition, 5,169 candidates were upgraded to a different seat, institute or course. Taken together, the document records 9,856 fresh allotment and upgradation outcomes for Round 3.
The list also includes candidates whose existing seats were retained, candidates who were not allotted any seat, and candidates who surrendered their seats during the round.
Candidates who have been allotted a seat, whether fresh or through upgradation, must download their allotment letters and report to the allotted college between October 1 and October 9. Reporting involves document verification and completion of the admission formalities. Candidates are advised not to delay, as admission is subject to completion of these formalities within the specified window.
The allotment covers MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing programmes. It includes several quotas, among them All India, Open Seat, Delhi University, IP University, Self-Financed Merit Seat, Non-Resident Indian, and other specified quotas.
Candidates should check their provisional results carefully. In case of any discrepancy, they must report the matter to the MCC of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) by 10 am on October 1, through the "Candidates Grievances and Query Redressal System" available on the Candidate Login Portal. Raising the issue within this deadline is important, as grievances raised later may not be considered.
The official notification has clarified that the provisional result is only indicative in nature and is subject to change. It stated that candidates cannot claim any right over the allotted seat on the basis of the provisional result, and that the provisional result cannot be challenged before a court of law.
Candidates have been advised to approach the allotted college or institute only after the declaration of the final result. Until then, they should rely solely on official MCC communications for updates on the counselling schedule and further rounds.
Counselling for undergraduate medical and allied courses is conducted centrally for seats in participating institutions across the country. Because allotments can change until the final result is declared, candidates are encouraged to keep their documents ready and to monitor the official portal regularly for announcements on subsequent rounds, including any stray vacancy round.
