Namma Metro contract labourer electrocuted near Trinity Station
A contract labourer working on Namma Metro pillar lighting died after suffering an electric shock during excavation near Trinity Metro Station on Friday, according to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
The incident occurred near Pillar No. 153, outside the station at 3:52 p.m. The deceased was employed by M.R. Electricals, the contractor responsible for lighting work on Namma Metro pillars.
The BMRCL stated that the labourer came into contact with an electric source while carrying out earth pit excavation. He sustained a severe shock and was rushed to a private hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Officials said the exact cause of the accident is under investigation. Authorities have initiated a detailed inquiry to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal incident.
