Mullaperiyar Dam Water Level at 112.45 Feet, Inflow Lower Than Discharge

On Sunday, the water level in the Mullaperiyar dam stood at 112.45 feet, well below the maximum permissible level of 142 feet. The dam recorded an inflow of 170 cusecs and a discharge of 356 cusecs, indicating that more water is being released than entering the reservoir.

In the Vaigai dam, the water level was measured at 31.73 feet, against a maximum capacity of 71 feet. The inflow was 226 cusecs, and discharge was 86 cusecs.

The combined storage in the Periyar credit stood at 1,680.64 million cubic feet (mcft).

Rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours (in mm) includes: Periyapatti 23, Kodaikanal 17.2, Kallandiri 16.2, Mettupatti 9.2, Andipatti 5, and Madurai 2.2.
