India and Japan on Thursday unveiled a transformative agenda including an economic partnership framework and a defence pact to co-develop military hardware, following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Sanae Takaichi. The initiatives aim to deepen strategic ties between the two nations.

The Supreme Court on Thursday set aside an order of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) after finding that it relied on non-existent, AI-generated hallucinated judicial precedents. The court termed the use of such fictitious case laws as “catastrophic” to the judicial process, underscoring the risks of artificial intelligence in legal proceedings.

Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Thursday shifted to her own house, relinquishing the government bungalow that had served as her residence and the camp office of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for nearly two decades. The move came amid ongoing political developments in the state.

In Thailand, an 11-year-old boy crashed a pickup truck into a group of monks on a pilgrimage walk in the northeast, killing nine. Officials reported that 35 monks from Mukdahan province were on the pilgrimage; five died at the scene and four later in hospital.

Elsewhere, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to attend the funeral of late Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei this week, according to a foreign ministry spokesman. The visit underscores regional diplomatic engagements following Khamenei's death.
