Missing Toddler Case: Forensic Report of Pet Dog Expected by Friday, Says Andhra Minister

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha stated on Wednesday that the forensic examination report of a pet dog that died during search operations for a missing two-year-old girl is expected within 48 hours. The report may provide clues in the ongoing investigation, she added.

The child, from Ch. Agraharam village in Tuni mandal of Kakinada district, went missing on June 6 along with the family's pet dog. The dog returned home alone on June 9 and was subsequently fitted with a GPS tracker to assist in search efforts. Over the next four days, the dog covered more than 80 kilometres during the search before it was found dead at the girl’s residence on June 13 under circumstances that are yet to be clarified.

A post-mortem examination was conducted to determine the cause of the dog’s death, and the forensic report is awaited. The Minister, accompanied by Kakinada Superintendent of Police G. Bondhu Madhav, reviewed the search operations and met with the child’s mother to offer support.

Search operations continue using technical aids such as thermal drones, and all households in neighboring villages have been checked. Additionally, anti-Naxal squads have been deployed to comb forest areas and hills near the village, following a reported sighting of the girl with the dog by a local resident.

Minister Anitha cautioned that strict action would be taken against individuals posting unverified or baseless content on social media regarding the case. She assured that the investigation and search efforts would be intensified.
