Minor Boys Face POCSO Charges in Shamli Sexual Assault Case
An eight-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by two minor boys in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, police confirmed on Monday (July 6, 2026).
According to a complaint filed by the victim's family, the incident occurred on Sunday (July 5) when the girl was playing near her house. The two boys, both minors, allegedly lured her with chips to a secluded spot and assaulted her.
Circle Officer Jitendra Singh said a case has been registered against the two accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Both accused have been taken into police custody, and the victim has been sent for a medical examination. The officer added that further investigation is underway.
Authorities have assured strict legal action in accordance with the law, emphasizing the protection of children from sexual offences.
