Major fire at Lucknow commercial building under control; no casualties reported

A fire broke out at a three-storey commercial building in Lucknow's Aliganj area on Monday afternoon, prompting a large-scale response from the fire department. Officials confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far, and there is no information about anyone being trapped inside the building.

The fire department received an alert at around 3 p.m. from a coaching institute located on Usha Mehta Marg under the Aliganj police station limits. Fire officials said 14 fire tenders, including a hydraulic platform vehicle, were pressed into service to control the blaze.

According to a fire department official, the firefighting operation was underway and the blaze was being brought under control. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Witnesses reported seeing thick smoke billowing from the building, but no injuries have been reported.

The building houses several commercial establishments, including offices and shops. Police have cordoned off the area to facilitate the firefighting efforts and to ensure public safety. Further details are awaited as the operation continues.

This is a developing story. Authorities are expected to release more information once the fire is fully doused and a preliminary assessment is completed.
