Madhya Pradesh Police Book BJP Youth Leader for Alleged Sexual Harassment of Doctor

A state executive member of the Bharatiya Janata Party's youth wing, Yuva Morcha, has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing a doctor at a medical college in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh. Police have registered a case under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are conducting searches to arrest the accused and another individual.

According to the doctor's complaint, the incident occurred while she was treating a patient for poisoning. The accused allegedly touched her inappropriately. When the doctor and other hospital staff objected, the accused threatened them, saying, 'goli maar denge (we will shoot).'

The incident prompted protests by doctors and nursing staff, who suspended work and blocked the main entrance to the medical college, disrupting healthcare services for several hours. The protesters have demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and warned of a statewide strike if action is not taken.

Police have confirmed that both accused are absconding and efforts are underway to apprehend them. The case has been filed under relevant sections of the BNS, including those related to sexual harassment and criminal intimidation.

The BJP has not issued an official statement on the matter. The Yuva Morcha member's alleged involvement has drawn attention due to the party's prominent political position.
