KSU Rail Blockade in Kannur Protests NEET Irregularities and Police Action

The Kannur district committee of the Kerala Students’ Union (KSU) staged a rail blockade at Kannur railway station on Tuesday, protesting against the Delhi Police’s action against senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, and alleged irregularities in the NEET examination.

KSU activists blocked a train, raising slogans against the Union government. Police later arrested and removed the protesters.

Inaugurating the protest, KSU district president M.C. Athul alleged that the Centre was attempting to suppress democratic protests by using the police. He also claimed that the Centre had betrayed students by allowing the NEET examination to be compromised through question paper leaks.

Mr. Athul warned that the KSU would intensify its agitation in the coming days against what he described as the Centre’s anti-people policies, the alleged NEET examination scam, and police action against Opposition members.

The protest was led by KSU district vice-president Ashith Ashokan and district secretary Suraj Pariyaram.
