Kerala PSC Exam Irregularities: Crime Branch Seeks Records from Commission
The special investigation team (SIT) probing the alleged examination irregularities in the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has formally sought documents from the constitutional body.
Investigators have requested records related to the controversial State Planning Board examinations, including the question paper, answer key, list of candidates who appeared for the test, details of those shortlisted for interviews, and information on the on-screen marking process.
The PSC has assured full cooperation, but it remains unclear whether it will share the confidential records, as the commission generally does not disclose sensitive examination-related documents to external agencies.
The move follows the recording of statements by the Crime Branch from several candidates who appeared for PSC examinations conducted for three posts in the Planning Board. The candidates are said to have submitted supporting evidence, including mark lists and other documents, which they reportedly obtained from the PSC through the Right to Information Act.
The probe may expand beyond the State Planning Board recruitment process. The Crime Branch has received complaints alleging irregularities in other government departments and agencies. These complaints are being scrutinised, and statements of the complainants could be recorded in the coming days.
The SIT, headed by Inspector General S. Ajeetha Begum, was constituted following allegations of irregularities in various examinations conducted by the PSC.
