Karnataka Student Claims NEET OMR Mix-Up, Score Shows -11 Instead of Expected 663

Bindhushree J. Pawar, a NEET UG-2026 aspirant from Hangal in Haveri district, Karnataka, has alleged a mix-up in her OMR sheet, resulting in a score of -11 instead of the 663 marks she anticipated.

According to Pawar, she expected a score of 663 based on the answer key released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 21. However, when the results were announced on July 16, she was shocked to find her score recorded as -11.

Pawar contends that while the OMR sheet sent by the NTA bears her name, roll number, and signature, the answer markings do not resemble her style. She stated that she attempted 165 questions, but the OMR sheet provided to her contains only 41 entries.

On July 22, Pawar sent an email to the NTA requesting her original OMR sheet, which she believes should have earned her 663 marks. She has not received any reply, and calls by her teachers to the NTA helpline have gone unanswered.

Speaking to the media, Pawar further alleged that the fingerprint on the OMR sheet appears tampered, with a second overlapping thumb impression. She noted that while her signature and other details are correct, the entry time is recorded as 1.56 p.m. and exit time as 1.57 p.m., leaving only one minute to complete the OMR sheet—a timeframe she deems impractical.

The OMR sheet shows her signature at 1.52 p.m. and signatures of two invigilators at 1.56 p.m. and 1.57 p.m.

Bindhushree's father, Jagadish Pawar, said she had undergone two years of coaching and performed well in practice tests. He urged the NTA to send the original OMR sheet and ensure justice.

The Haveri district administration has forwarded Bindhushree's grievance to the NTA.
