JP Nadda and Rahul Gandhi Visit Injured Protesters at Delhi Hospital After Police Action
A day after a protest in Delhi led to police action resulting in injuries, Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi separately visited the injured at hospitals in the capital.
On Tuesday, Nadda visited Sheikh Irshad, who was injured during the protest and is receiving treatment at Lady Hardinge Medical College. After meeting Irshad, Nadda said, 'I met Sheikh Irshad, who got injured and is under treatment in Lady Harding Hospital. He said he is satisfied with the treatment.' He added, 'I spoke to the doctors, and they gave me the line of treatment. They are taken care of.'
Later, Gandhi, along with his sister and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, visited injured protesters at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. The Congress leaders spent time with the patients and spoke with medical staff about their condition. The details of Gandhi's remarks were not immediately available.
The protest on Monday involved a group demonstrating against an unspecified issue, which led to a police response. Several protesters sustained injuries and were admitted to various hospitals in the city. The exact number of injured and the circumstances of the police action remain under review.
