J&K Police Attaches Properties of Five Pakistan-Based Terror Handlers in Reasi

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday attached the immovable properties of five individuals alleged to be Pakistan-based terrorist handlers in the Reasi district, as part of efforts to curb terror financing in the Union Territory.

The attachment order was executed under a case registered at the Mahore Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the Egress and Internal Movement Control Ordinance Act. A police team led by Mahore Sub-Divisional Police Officer Parul Bhardwaj carried out the operation in the presence of an executive magistrate and local witnesses, according to a police spokesperson.

The attached land includes properties owned by Alaf Din (7 kanals), Ghulam Mohammad (10 kanals and 11 marlas), Mohammed Asraf (17 marlas), Shabir Ahmad (7 kanals and 3 marlas), and Bahar Din (8 kanals and 1 marla). One kanal is approximately 5,445 square feet, while one marla measures about 272.2 square feet.

“During investigation, credible evidence established that the accused had exfiltrated to Pakistan to attain terrorist training. They are currently operating as terrorist handlers from across the border, actively promoting, facilitating, and coordinating activities of ultras. The accused allegedly planned to use the assets to facilitate, finance, and sustain terror acts,” the spokesperson said.

This action is part of an ongoing effort by the J&K Police to dismantle the financial and logistical infrastructure supporting cross-border terror networks. In a similar operation on Wednesday, police attached properties valued at approximately Rs 90.7 lakh in the Ramban district, belonging to four individuals alleged to be terrorist handlers operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
