Indian-Origin Former Google Executive Killed in US: Husband Arrested for Murder
An Indian-origin woman, formerly a Google executive, was fatally shot in her home in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, and police have arrested her husband, Kirk B. Wrzesien, in connection with the killing.
Sheetal Wrzesien, 57, was found inside the family residence on Laurel Creek Trail with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene. Her son, Jason, sustained injuries during the shooting but survived.
The Cobb County Police Department received reports of gunfire at the home shortly before 8 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim and immediately began an investigation. Kirk Wrzesien, 56, was taken into custody at the scene on Tuesday night.
He faces charges including felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. As of the latest reports, he is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Centre.
Neighbors expressed shock at the violence. Joanne Anderson, a resident of the street for over 20 years, told local media: 'I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know if someone had a heart attack or what had happened.'
This incident highlights the ongoing issue of domestic violence within communities, though authorities have not yet disclosed a motive. The case remains under investigation.
