Indian High Jumper Sarvesh Kushare to Debut in Diamond League After National Record

Sarvesh Kushare, the 31-year-old Indian high jumper, is set to make his debut at the prestigious Diamond League event in Monaco on 10th July. This opportunity comes just days after he set a new national record of 2.31 meters at the Inter-State National Championships.

After breaking the long-standing national record, Kushare expressed his desire to compete at the highest level. '2.31m is a global mark. I want to compete in more competitions and rub shoulders with the best in the world,' he said. Within days, his wish was granted with an invitation to the Monaco Diamond League.

Kushare, who hails from Maharashtra, will join a select group of Indian athletes who have competed in the Diamond League, including Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, steeplechaser Avinash Sable, long jumper Sreeshankar Murali, and others. His participation marks a significant step in his career and highlights the growing presence of Indian athletes on the global stage.

The Diamond League is a series of elite track and field meets featuring the world's top athletes. Kushare's entry into this circuit underscores his recent achievement and potential to compete internationally.
