Indian Army Opens Applications for Paid Internship Programme 2026-27, Stipend Up to ₹75,000
The Indian Army has invited applications for the second edition of its Internship Programme (IAIP) for 2026-27, offering students paid opportunities in emerging technology and management fields. The internships will be based in New Delhi, with applications submitted through the National Internship Portal.
The programme is designed to provide practical learning, exposure to advanced technologies, and a chance to contribute to projects tied to the defence ecosystem. It covers domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Quantum Computing, Drones, Robotics, Space Technology, and Defence Electronics, among others.
Internships will run for 75 days, including 60 days of in-office training and 15 days of work-from-home. Selected interns may receive a stipend of up to ₹75,000, paid after successful completion of the internship and fulfilment of all requirements. The final amount depends on the intern's attendance during the programme.
Accommodation is not provided, so candidates must arrange their own stay in the New Delhi/NCR region. A wide range of project-specific internships are listed, including roles for AI engineers, data analysts, software developers, robotics researchers, and specialists in drone and space technologies. Deadlines vary by project, with many closing between August 1 and August 15, 2026.
Students may apply for multiple positions but can accept only one offer. The Indian Army has clarified that the internship does not guarantee placement or employment. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate and practical experience under defence professionals.
