India warns citizens: avoid travel to Iran, consider leaving amid rising tensions
India has advised its citizens to cancel all non-essential travel to Iran and to consider leaving the country if they are currently there, citing increasing instability and military activity, particularly along Iran's southern coast.
The Indian Embassy in Tehran issued a revised advisory on Sunday, noting that "recent days have seen an increase in levels of instability and conflict in Iran," according to a report by PTI. The advisory strongly recommends that anyone planning to travel to Iran "for any purpose should postpone travel for the time being, until the security environment improves."
The advisory also urges Indian nationals currently in Iran to exercise extreme caution, avoid non-essential movement, and stay in touch with the embassy. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring the situation and has set up a 24-hour helpline for assistance. Citizens are encouraged to register with the embassy through the MADAD portal for updates and emergency support.
