IIT Madras announces changes to GATE 2027 syllabus and paper combinations

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has released an updated information brochure for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027, incorporating revisions to the Biotechnology (BT) syllabus and the list of permitted two-paper combinations. The revised brochure is now available on the official GATE 2027 website.

The institute has clarified that there are no changes to the examination schedule, eligibility criteria, or other admission-related provisions. GATE 2027 will continue to be conducted as previously announced, comprising 30 test papers, each carrying 100 marks and held in English.

Among the key revisions is the adjustment of two-paper combinations available to candidates. The specific changes to the BT syllabus are detailed in the updated brochure. Candidates are advised to review the new document carefully to ensure their preparation aligns with the latest requirements.

GATE is a national-level examination that tests the comprehensive understanding of various engineering and science subjects. Scores are used for admissions to postgraduate programs and recruitment by public sector undertakings.
