Hubballi, Mysuru Airports Drop in AAI Customer Satisfaction Rankings
Two of the four Airport Authority of India (AAI) Tier-II airports in Karnataka have recorded a decline in customer satisfaction ratings for the first half of 2026, according to the AAI's latest survey.
The AAI's Customer Satisfaction Index of Airports for Round-I 2026, compared with Round-II 2025, surveyed 60 of the 63 AAI-run airports across the country. Hubballi airport, which was ranked fourth in the previous survey, dropped to sixth place. Its score fell from 4.96 to 4.93 out of 5.
Belagavi airport improved its rank from 11th to ninth, maintaining the same score of 4.89. Kalaburgi airport, which could not be surveyed earlier due to a lack of scheduled flights, was ranked 22nd with 4.72 points. Flight services resumed at Kalaburgi on June 10 after Star Air restarted flights between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru. The airport had been off the aviation map since October 15, 2025, when Star Airlines abruptly suspended services.
Mysuru airport experienced the sharpest fall, dropping from 15th to 34th place among 35 operational airports. Its score declined significantly from 4.81 to 4.18.
The survey evaluates 33 parameters, including ground transportation, parking, baggage trolley availability, check-in queue wait times, staff efficiency and courtesy, security inspection thoroughness, value for money of restaurants, comfort of waiting areas, and internet/Wi-Fi access. Five hygiene-related questions were also included.
Khajuraho, Aurangabad, and Madurai airports secured the top three positions in the survey.
