Harshit Rana added to India's ODI squad for Chennai match against Afghanistan
India have added seam-bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana to their ODI squad ahead of the team's final match against Afghanistan at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday.
The 24-year-old returns to competitive cricket after recovering from a left knee injury that kept him out of action since February. Rana last played in India's warm-up fixture against South Africa during the T20 World Cup in Mumbai, but was later ruled out of the main tournament due to the injury. Mohammed Siraj replaced him in the squad that went on to win the World Cup.
Rana also missed the entire IPL 2026 season for Kolkata Knight Riders while undergoing rehabilitation. He has been declared fit and is now available for selection in the one-day international format.
The addition of Rana gives India an extra bowling option and depth in the pace department as they prepare to face Afghanistan in what is the third and final ODI of the series.
