Gorakhpur University to launch UP's first dual MBA programme with Malaysian partner
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University will introduce Uttar Pradesh's first dual MBA degree programme, enabling students to study at both the Indian campus and a foreign university under a single academic course, university officials announced on Thursday.
The proposal received final approval from the university's Executive Council, making it the first state-run institution in Uttar Pradesh to offer such a programme. Under the arrangement, students will complete the first year of their MBA at Gorakhpur University and the second year at Lincoln University College in Malaysia. Upon successful completion, they will receive MBA degrees from both institutions.
University officials said the programme aims to provide students with international academic exposure, modern management practices, and insights into global business operations. The dual degree is expected to enhance career prospects for graduates and foster academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The initiative comes amid growing demand for globally oriented management education in India. Gorakhpur University's move aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes internationalization and flexibility in higher education. The university plans to admit the first batch of students for the academic year 2025-26.
