Four more held in Tirunelveli murder case, police intensify search for remaining accused

Veeravanallur police on Sunday arrested four more individuals in connection with the murder of 40-year-old Kalimuthu, which took place in the district on July 2. The arrests bring the total number of people in custody to seven.

The Tirunelveli police have deployed five special teams to track down the accused. Three arrests were made on Saturday, followed by four more on Sunday. The latest suspects have been identified as Manikandan, 30, Rajathurai, 30, Muthupattan alias Pattu Raja, 20, and Mahalingam, 24, all residents of Moolachi village, the same village as the deceased.

According to police, all seven arrested individuals belong to the same community as Kalimuthu. Authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects. Further details about the motive and circumstances of the murder are awaited as the investigation progresses.
