Four killed in Nalgonda bus-car collision amid ongoing flyover construction

Four people were killed in a road accident in Nalgonda district in the early hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026, when a bus collided with a car from behind at Peddakaparthi in Chityal mandal.

According to preliminary reports from the police, four occupants of the car died on the spot. The car driver sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital. Several passengers on the bus also suffered injuries in the crash.

The impact of the collision severely damaged the car. Police from Chityal station arrived at the scene, sent the bodies to Nalgonda Area Hospital for post-mortem examination, and ensured the injured driver received treatment.

The accident occurred on a stretch of road where flyover construction is underway. Traffic had been diverted to a single carriageway. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation, and no official statement has been released regarding any lapses in traffic management.
