Former UP Minister Nanak Ram Bhurji Dies After Fall at MLA Residence; Police Suspect Suicide

Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh minister and BJP leader Nanak Ram Bhurji died after falling from the seventh floor of the New MLA Residence in Lucknow's Hazratganj area on Tuesday, police said.

Police stated that no suicide note was found at the scene and there was no evidence of foul play. Preliminary findings suggested that Bhurji died by suicide, as he had been suffering from depression for a long time, according to officials.

Bhurji, who served as the BJP's OBC Morcha secretary, was taken to a hospital after the fall, where doctors declared him dead. The Estate Officer of the New MLA Residence alerted the police after the incident.

An investigation is underway, and authorities are awaiting a post-mortem report to confirm the cause of death. The case is being treated as an unnatural death.
