Former Raichur MLA Syed Yasin Dies at 74 in Bengaluru Hospital

Former Raichur MLA Syed Yasin passed away on Sunday at a private hospital in Bengaluru. He was 74 years old.

According to family sources, Yasin had been admitted for treatment of a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife and four sons.

Yasin was elected from the Raichur Urban Assembly Constituency twice, in 1999 and 2008, on a Congress ticket. He entered politics at the behest of his relative, former Union Minister Jaffer Sharief.

His funeral will take place on Monday, following Islamic rituals, as confirmed by family members.

Several political leaders, including MLAs N.S. Boseraju, Shivaraj Patil, Basanagouda Daddal, and MLC Vasant Kumar, paid their respects to the former legislator.
