Faisal Khan: Land grab on Aamir's ancestral property spurred family reconciliation

Aamir Khan's brother Faisal Khan has revealed that learning about the illegal occupation of his brother's ancestral land in Uttar Pradesh led him to seek reconciliation with his family. Faisal, who had previously spoken publicly about his discord with his family, said he has now patched up with his mother, sister, and Aamir.

In a recent interview, Faisal explained that he visited Shahabad, the family's ancestral town in Uttar Pradesh, to assess the land owned by the family. During his visit, he was informed that some of Aamir's land had been illegally occupied by others. 'I said that's not good, and now that I know, I must protect his property,' Faisal said.

However, Faisal was not on speaking terms with Aamir at the time, which made him feel helpless. 'These other people were taking advantage of the fact that Aamir and I are not on speaking terms. I realised that when someone is in trouble, people take advantage of them,' he shared.

After returning to his hotel, Faisal called his sister Nikhat and took the first step towards mending ties. He learned that his mother was unwell, which deeply moved him. 'I cried a lot when I heard that. I was in deep shock because I had just not kept in touch with any member of the family,' he said. He flew back to Mumbai the next day.

Faisal publicly apologised to his family for his earlier public statements. 'I realised that your relationship with your family is the only true relationship. The outburst that I had, maybe because I was in pain... Certain things came up that I should have perhaps discussed in person instead of discussing it in public,' he acknowledged. He specifically apologised to Aamir, saying, 'I spoke to Aamir and I told him, I am sorry. I shouldn't have done this publicly. That was a huge mistake made by me.'

Faisal has now decided to prioritise peace over seeking answers. 'In trying to get an answer or trying to prove who is telling the truth, the wedge between the family will widen. I decided that I don't need any answers for anything that has happened in the past. I don't want to say I am right, you are wrong, because when you do all of that, nothing gets sorted out,' he said.

The family welcomed Faisal with open arms, and he felt it was important to publicly acknowledge the reconciliation, just as he had publicly aired his grievances. 'Now all my problems and complaints are over and done with,' he concluded.
