Explosion in Gulmarg Kills One, Injures Four; Probe Launched

A person was killed and four others injured in an explosion on Saturday in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir's Gulmarg, officials said.

The incident occurred near Asha Post, Sumli Wali Dhok, in Gulmarg, a popular tourist destination in the Union Territory.

The deceased has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Bajad, a resident of Galibal village in Chandoosa area of Baramulla district. He died on the spot, officials confirmed.

Four other individuals sustained injuries in the blast and were immediately provided medical assistance. Their identities and conditions have not been disclosed yet.

A team of forensic experts has been dispatched to the site to collect evidence and determine the cause of the explosion. Officials stated that further details are awaited pending the investigation.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and are conducting a thorough search to ensure there are no additional threats. No group has claimed responsibility, and the nature of the explosion remains unclear.
