DU UG Admissions 2026 Cross 71,000; Round 3 and Mid-Entry Schedule Announced

The University of Delhi (DU) has confirmed that over 71,000 undergraduate admissions have been completed under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) for the academic year 2026. The university has also announced the schedule for the third round of seat allocation and the mid-entry admission process, allowing fresh candidates to apply for available seats.

According to the official notification released on Wednesday, July 29, the mid-entry process will begin with the release of upgraded allocations and the first allocation list under the Ward Quota on August 1. Candidates who have applied under the Ward Quota—a reservation for students residing in the vicinity of DU colleges—will be considered in this phase. Colleges are required to verify and approve applications by August 3, and candidates must pay the admission fee by August 4.

For Round 3 of CSAS-UG, the seat allocation list will be published on August 8. Candidates who receive a seat must accept their allocation between August 8 and August 11, up to 11:59 pm. Following acceptance, colleges will verify applications by August 12, and the last date for fee payment is August 13, up to 11:59 pm.

The CSAS-UG system, introduced to streamline admissions, allocates seats based on candidates' preferences and merit. The mid-entry provision allows students who missed earlier rounds to apply for remaining seats in specific programmes. DU has urged candidates to regularly check the official CSAS portal for updates and adhere to the deadlines to avoid losing their allocated seats.

With over 71,000 admissions already confirmed, the university expects to fill the majority of its undergraduate seats through the remaining rounds. The Ward Quota, which reserves up to 20% of seats in some colleges for students from nearby areas, has been a point of contention in previous years but remains in effect for 2026.
