DU Opens Mid-Entry UG Admission Window; Third Allocation Results on August 8

Delhi University (DU) on Wednesday announced a mid-entry round for undergraduate (UG) candidates who had not been able to complete their admission process, had made errors in subject mapping, or whose documents were found invalid.

According to a notice from the office of the Dean, Admissions, candidates can apply for the mid-entry round from August 3 to 5 by paying a fee of ₹1,000. The notice also advises candidates who have appeared for the Class 12 compartment examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to apply in this window and complete Phase-I of registration to safeguard their academic interests.

As of Wednesday evening, 71,342 candidates had confirmed their UG admissions against 71,624 seats available this year, a university official said. The official added that additional seats are allocated every year because many students withdraw from the process midway.

Allocations under the Children of Wards (CW), Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) and Sports quotas will be announced on August 9, the official said.

The third allocation round is scheduled for August 8. The university notice stated that this round, which will include mid-entry candidates, will be based on data available by August 5. The minimum allocation score and ranks in the third round will have no relation to those of earlier rounds, and candidates allotted seats will have until August 11 to accept them.

The university has been conducting undergraduate admissions through its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Admissions are based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores. Candidates register on the CSAS portal, select their preferred courses and colleges, and upload the required documents for verification.

The mid-entry round is an additional opportunity for candidates who missed the earlier phases due to various reasons, including incomplete documentation or subject mapping errors. Candidates can access the mid-entry application window on the official DU admission portal. They are advised to keep their credentials ready while applying. The fee of ₹1,000 is to be paid online, and no offline payment will be accepted, as per the existing admission procedure.

Candidates must note that the mid-entry window is open only for three days. The university has asked them to complete the process within the specified timeline and avoid waiting until the last day to avoid technical issues. The schedule for the upcoming admission activities is as follows: the mid-entry application window is open from August 3 to 5, the third allocation results will be declared on August 8, the quota allocations will be announced on August 9, and candidates who receive seats in the third round must accept them by August 11.
