DU Direct Admission: 11 Colleges to Admit Students Without CUET
Delhi University (DU) has announced that 11 of its constituent colleges will fill a limited number of vacant undergraduate seats on the basis of Class 12 board examination marks. Students who missed out on admission through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will get another opportunity to secure a seat in these colleges.
This measure is being taken to fill seats that remained unoccupied after the regular admission rounds. The university has allowed the concerned colleges to admit students directly based on merit in qualifying examinations, instead of leaving such seats vacant. This is not a separate admission scheme, but a spot-filling process for leftover seats, as per DU's admission guidelines.
The colleges where direct admission will be offered are: Kalindi College, Lakshmibai College, Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening), P.G.D.A.V. College (Evening), Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Rajdhani College, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, Vivekanand College, Shyam Lal College, and Bhagini Nivedita College.
Students who have passed Class 12 from a recognised board and are seeking admission to undergraduate programmes can apply. However, they must meet the eligibility criteria specified by each college. Candidates who appeared for CUET UG but did not secure a seat in the regular rounds are also eligible. Applicants will need to submit their Class 12 marksheet and other relevant documents directly to the respective college. Seats will be allocated on the basis of merit, as determined by the college's cutoff and available vacancies.
DU has consistently followed a centralised admission process through CUET for most of its courses. The direct admission route is only for those colleges that still have vacancies after the designated admission phases. Students are advised to visit the official DU website or the concerned college portal for the exact schedule, eligibility, and application procedure.
