The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized banned Mephedrone drugs worth approximately Rs 30 lakh from a residential society in Ankleshwar town, Gujarat, and arrested three individuals on Tuesday night.

The accused, identified as Aman Mandal, Bittu Patel, and Abhishek Yadav, are all residents of Ankleshwar. They were produced before an Ankleshwar court on Wednesday, which remanded them to DRI custody until Thursday. Two of the accused hold degrees in Chemistry, and one is a chemical engineer.

According to DRI officials, the raid was conducted based on specific intelligence inputs. During the search, authorities seized essential chemicals and apparatus used in the production of Mephedrone, a banned synthetic drug. Officials noted that the equipment indicated preparations for a significant expansion of production capacity.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the DRI to curb drug trafficking and manufacturing in the region. Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the operation and any possible links to larger networks.
