Digital University Kerala and HEX20 Launch Hands-On Satellite Tech Programme for Students
The Digital University Kerala (DUK) has entered into a partnership with Technopark-based space technology startup HEX20 to offer a specialised hands-on educational programme in satellite technology. The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by DUK Registrar Jaishanker R. Nair and HEX20 Chief Executive Officer Amal Chandran, in the presence of DUK Vice-Chancellor Saji Gopinath.
Under the agreement, selected students from India and abroad will receive immersive training in the design, assembly, integration, and testing of satellite subsystems. The programme aims to address the gap between theoretical knowledge gained in classrooms and practical industry requirements. Participants will work alongside experienced satellite engineers and domain experts from HEX20, gaining exposure to real satellite systems and engineering workflows.
According to an official statement, the initiative is designed to develop skills needed for careers in the rapidly expanding global space technology sector. HEX20 will provide technical expertise and lead the training, while DUK will contribute the academic framework and institutional support necessary for the programme's implementation.
