Delhi University Receives Over 1.9 Lakh Applications for UG Admissions 2026, First Allotment on July 16

Delhi University (DU) has reported receiving 1,90,645 applications for undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Of these, 1,64,098 applicants have completed Phase II by submitting their programme and college preferences.

The university also provided a one-time correction window to allow candidates to rectify errors in their application forms. Admissions will be offered for 73 undergraduate programmes across 69 colleges and departments, with a total of 71,624 seats available.

The first seat allotment list under DU CSAS is scheduled for release on July 16, 2026. Candidates who are allotted seats must complete the admission process within the given timeline, which includes accepting the seat, paying the admission fee, and choosing either the 'Freeze' option to retain the allotted seat or the 'Upgrade' option to be considered for a higher preference in subsequent rounds.

The university has also introduced a virtual wallet facility for seamless payment of admission fees. Candidates are advised to carefully complete subject mapping and preference submission before the deadline, as preferences will be locked automatically once the process closes.

For updates on seat allotment, admission schedules, and counselling, candidates should regularly visit the official CSAS portal.
