Delhi University Grants Extra Day for Seat Acceptance Amid Orientation Rush

Delhi University has extended by one day the deadline for candidates who received seats in the second round of admissions to accept their offers. The move comes as colleges face additional workload ahead of the academic session starting July 28.

According to the revised schedule, colleges will verify and approve applications by July 28, and candidates must confirm their seats by July 29. Earlier, approvals were to be completed by July 27, with seat acceptance due on July 28.

Admissions officials stated that the extension was granted due to the burden on colleges, which are also conducting orientation programmes for the new academic year. A university notice urged candidates to pay fees promptly after approval to ensure they can join on the first day of the session.

On July 25, 24,814 fresh allocations were made in the second round. So far, a total of 88,584 candidates have been allotted seats across various programmes.
