Delhi Metro Blue Line Faces Disruption; Services Restored After Hour-Long Snag
Train services on the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line were disrupted for over an hour on Tuesday evening due to an overhead equipment failure, causing overcrowding at stations and delays for passengers.
The disruption affected services between Anand Vihar and Vaishali, with commuters at stations such as Mandi House reporting delays of nearly half an hour. The issue led to congestion and inconvenience for those travelling on the Vaishali route.
According to officials from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), services were affected between 5:20 p.m. and 6:43 p.m. “To carry out restoration work, services were halted between Anand Vihar and Vaishali for some time. Normal services resumed at 6:43 p.m.,” an official said.
During the disruption, single-line operations were maintained for a brief period between Yamuna Bank and Anand Vihar to ensure partial connectivity. Services on the Noida Electronic City–Dwarka Sector 21 section continued as usual.
DMRC stated that regular announcements were made at stations and inside trains to keep passengers informed throughout the incident.
