Delhi Man Dies by Suicide After Marital Dispute; Probe Underway
A 30-year-old man died after jumping into a drain in Delhi's Kanti Nagar area on Monday, with police attributing the incident to an ongoing marital dispute. The man, identified as Naseem, a resident of Sartaj Mohalla, was later pulled out and rushed to Dr Hedgewar Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Police said Naseem worked at a jeans-finishing unit in Gandhi Nagar and lived with his parents, wife, and three children. According to preliminary inquiries, Naseem and his 26-year-old wife Amreen were facing marital differences, and she had been living separately at the time of the incident.
Authorities said Naseem's mother was following him when he headed towards the drain, but she could not reach him before he jumped in. The body has been sent for postmortem and later handed over to the family. Further investigation is underway, a police officer stated.
