A police constable prevented a potentially dangerous incident near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai on Saturday evening, after he subdued a man brandishing a sickle. The suspect, identified as Waqar Anwar Shaikh, 22, was arrested.

The incident occurred around 7 pm, a time when the railway station area was crowded with commuters. Shaikh was allegedly shouting and waving the sickle, and was seen charging at pedestrians as well as his wife, who was with him.

Constable Vishal Gade, who was on his way to report for his night shift at the Press Room of the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s Office, noticed the commotion and intervened. He overpowered Shaikh and handed him over to the police.
