Commercial LPG price cut by ₹209 per cylinder in Kolkata, effective August 1

The price of a 19 kg commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder has been reduced by ₹209 in Kolkata, effective Saturday, August 1, 2026. The revised price will be ₹2,872.50 per cylinder, offering some relief to businesses and commercial establishments in the city.

This price revision follows the Union government's decision on June 25, 2026, to restore the supply of industrial and commercial LPG to pre-crisis levels. The government also withdrew all sector-specific allocation caps that had been imposed at the peak of the West Asia crisis, citing an improved supply situation.

The cut comes after state-owned oil marketing companies announced a steep increase in commercial LPG prices in May 2026 across the country. That earlier hike had put additional financial pressure on restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that depend on commercial LPG for daily operations.

With the latest adjustment, a 19 kg commercial cylinder in Kolkata now costs ₹2,872.50. There is no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders, which are used in households. Domestic LPG prices remain unaffected, providing continuity for household budgets.
