Climate Resilience Conference Opens Platform for Student Research
The Pure Earth Foundation, a charitable organisation working on environmental issues, has announced the 13th edition of its Pure Earth Environment Conference (PEEC). The biennial national-level event will provide a platform for students and research scholars from across India to present their work on environmental, natural resource and social challenges.
Scheduled to be held virtually on November 21, the conference will centre on the theme 'Climate Extremes & Resilience'. This theme addresses the growing frequency and intensity of climate-related disruptions, such as floods, heatwaves and cyclones, and the corresponding need for communities, ecosystems and economies to anticipate, prepare for and recover from these shocks.
The organisers have invited submissions of research papers and posters that explore innovative solutions, policy frameworks, community-led adaptation strategies and scientific assessments related to climate resilience. A selection committee will review all submissions to ensure the quality and relevance of the presentations.
Shortlisted participants will be invited to present their work during the conference, which will be conducted in a virtual format to enable broad participation from across the country. The best paper presentations will receive cash prizes, in line with the foundation's aim to encourage young researchers and foster a new generation of environmental thinkers.
