Centre Approves 28 Delhi Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹1,647 Crore
The Union government has approved all 28 major infrastructure projects proposed by the Delhi government under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Sunday.
In a statement, Ms. Gupta said the total cost of the projects is ₹1,647 crore. The Centre has also granted an additional incentive of ₹756 crore in recognition of the Delhi government's efforts to boost capital expenditure through its own resources.
The funds will be used to accelerate development works across the capital and improve public facilities. Among the approved projects are Delhi Metro extensions, the Barapullah Elevated Corridor, a flyover at Karawal Nagar, electric vehicle charging stations at DTC depots, and other road infrastructure works.
SASCI is a central scheme that provides interest-free financial assistance to states and Union Territories for infrastructure projects. It also offers incentives to encourage strategic reforms and higher capital investment by states.
The Chief Minister said the Finance Department has been tasked with coordinating with all concerned departments to ensure swift construction so that Delhi residents can benefit at the earliest.
