Central Railway to run all 1,820 suburban trains on June 21 for NEET UG 2026 re-examination

The Central Railway (CR) has announced that all 1,820 suburban train services on the Mumbai network, including 94 air-conditioned local trains, will operate on Sunday, June 21, 2026, to assist candidates appearing for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination.

In a statement released on Thursday, Dr. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, said that no mega block will be undertaken on that day. Instead of the usual 1,200 services run on Sundays, the full weekday schedule of 1,820 services will be operated on all lines according to the regular timetable.

The decision aims to ensure smooth travel for students who are required to sit for the re-examination of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate medical courses. The NEET UG is a national-level exam for admission to medical and dental colleges across India.

Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, as the increased number of trains may also benefit regular passengers on that day.
