CBSE Board Exams 2027: Class 10, 12 Date Sheet Not Out Yet; LOC Window Now Open
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not yet released the date sheet for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the 2026-27 academic session. When published, the timetable will be available on the board's official website, cbse.gov.in. The board has not indicated a date for the announcement.
Until the date sheet is out, the only confirmed development in the examination process this year is the opening of the window for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC). The portal was opened on September 24. Schools can submit candidates' details without a late fee until October 21. Submissions with a late fee will be accepted from October 22 to 26.
CBSE has stated that only students whose names are submitted through the online LOC process will be permitted to appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. This makes the LOC stage a mandatory step, and schools are expected to complete it within the stipulated window.
Once the date sheet is released, it is expected to carry the subject-wise schedule, examination timings, reporting time and instructions for candidates. The board has also said it will publish details relating to examinations for sports students, along with the schedule for the Class 10 second board examination and the Class 12 supplementary examinations.
These additional examinations form part of changes the board has planned for the senior secondary and secondary stages. The second opportunity for Class 10 students is intended to give candidates another chance to improve their performance, while Class 12 students have the supplementary route. Students should rely on the board's official announcements for the exact schedule and eligibility conditions, as these details are yet to be published.
CBSE conducts board examinations for a large number of students across India and in affiliated schools abroad. The date sheet is a key document for candidates, schools and parents, as it determines preparation timelines, practical examination schedules and the gaps available between papers. Schools generally use the interval between the announcement and the examinations to finalise revision plans and internal assessments.
Candidates and parents should note that several unverified date sheets and schedules circulate on social media and messaging platforms before the official release. These are not authentic. Students should treat only the timetable published on cbse.gov.in as final, and should verify any schedule they receive through informal channels against the official website. Schools are also advised to share information with students only after it is confirmed by the board.
The late-fee window for LOC submission closes on October 26. Schools that miss both deadlines may face difficulties in registering candidates. Students whose names are not registered through this process will not be issued admit cards for the board examinations.
The board is yet to announce when the 2027 date sheet will be released. Candidates are advised to monitor the official CBSE website and their school's notices for updates.
