CBSE Allows Physical Inspection of Answer Sheets After Revaluation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a new provision allowing students to physically inspect their evaluated answer books at regional offices after receiving a 'no change' verdict in the verification process. This marks the first time such a facility has been offered, aiming to increase transparency in the evaluation system.

Previously, students could apply for verification and revaluation of answer sheets but had no means to review the physical copies once the process concluded. The new measure addresses long-standing concerns about the fairness of evaluation and provides an additional avenue for grievance redressal.

According to a report, students who are dissatisfied with the outcome of their answer sheet verification can now visit CBSE Regional Offices to examine their evaluated scripts. The initiative is expected to enhance confidence in the board's examination process and reduce disputes over marks.

CBSE has not yet released detailed operational guidelines for the inspection process. However, the decision is seen as a significant step in improving post-result services. On June 21, 2026, the board announced that over 87% of applications for post-result activities had been processed and outcomes released in the first phase.

Students who applied for verification, revaluation, or other services can check their updated marks and application status on the official CBSE portal.
