CBI Finds 111 of 136 Leaked NEET-UG Questions Matched NTA Master Set

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has informed a Delhi court that out of 136 handwritten questions recovered from the mobile phone of an arrested coaching centre owner in Latur, 111 matched the master question sets prepared by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This development is part of the ongoing investigation into the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case.

The questions were found on the phone of Shivraj Motegaonkar, who operates Renukai Chemistry Classes in Latur and runs a YouTube channel called "Motegaonkar Sir’s RCC" with 1.68 lakh subscribers. The CBI made this submission in response to a bail plea filed by one of the accused.

According to the CBI, the investigation revealed that Aditya Motegaonkar attended special classes conducted by co-accused P V Kulkarni, where leaked Chemistry questions were provided. Aditya prepared handwritten notes from those questions. During a search, 36 images (including five duplicates) containing 132 handwritten Chemistry questions were found on Shivraj Motegaonkar's phone, allegedly in his handwriting.

Till date, the agency has made 13 arrests in the case, including teachers and students from Delhi, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Nashik, Pune, Latur, and Ahilyanagar. The CBI is continuing its investigation to determine the full extent of the leak and identify all involved parties.

The NEET-UG 2026 examination is a crucial entrance test for medical and dental courses in India. Any breach in its security undermines the integrity of the examination process and affects millions of aspirants. The NTA, which conducts the exam, has been working with investigative agencies to prevent such incidents.

The court is expected to hear the bail plea and further arguments in the coming days. The CBI has opposed bail, citing the serious nature of the offence and the need for custodial interrogation to uncover the entire network.
