BJP Haryana Chief Demands Punjab CM's Resignation Over Alleged Fake Forensic Report, Insult to Sikh Gurus

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Haryana president Archana Gupta on Sunday (June 21, 2026) demanded the immediate resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing him of disrespecting Sikh gurus and orchestrating a fake forensic report to discredit a viral video.

Addressing a press conference in Narnaul, Ms. Gupta alleged that the video shows Mr. Mann engaging in acts that insult Sikh gurus. She claimed that after the video surfaced, the Punjab government and police attempted to prove it fake, and that Mr. Mann later commissioned a fabricated forensic report to discredit the footage. “Orchestrating a fake forensic report to discredit a genuine video is a criminal offense. Punjab Police tried to secure a favourable report to shield Bhagwant Mann, but the Haryana government and Gurugram Police brought the facts to light,” she said.

Ms. Gupta referenced revelations by Jaspreet Singh, a resident of Sirsa and complainant in the case, who alleged pressure to generate a favourable forensic report. She called Punjab “the sacred land of Gurus and martyrs” and cited the sacrifices of Guru Arjan Dev, Guru Tegh Bahadur, and Guru Gobind Singh. “CM Mann’s actions on this hallowed ground are extremely unfortunate and condemnable. Instead of seeking forgiveness, he is intent on suppressing the matter and labelling the video as fake,” she added.

The BJP leader also criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for failing to fulfil promises on financial aid, pensions, and amenities for women, describing them as “election-time rhetoric.” She questioned why a fabricated report was needed if Mr. Mann himself dismissed the video as fake, and demanded that the Punjab government clarify its role. “The CM’s office commands dignity. Transparency and accountability must be top priorities. Bhagwant Mann has no moral right to remain in office,” she said.

Ms. Gupta also attacked the Congress party over the Emergency, stating that a party that “murdered democracy” had no right to speak on the issue. The allegations come amid ongoing political tensions between the BJP and AAP in Punjab.
