Bihar By-Election: Prashant Kishor's AI Video Claim, BJP Chief's Temple Visits Mark Final Campaign Day

Campaigning for the Bankipur Assembly by-election concluded on Tuesday, with major parties making a final push in a contest that has shaped up as a triangular fight. Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor, along with candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), are the main contenders.

The by-election was necessitated after former Bankipur legislator Nitin Nabin was elected to the Rajya Sabha following his elevation as national president of the BJP earlier this year. On Tuesday, Nabin visited several temples across the constituency, staying at the forefront of the campaign for BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha.

RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav led a roadshow with party candidate Rekha Gupta. Tejashwi, who returned from an overseas trip, questioned the BJP's developmental record in the constituency, which the party has held continuously since 1995.

Prashant Kishor, making his electoral debut with the Jan Suraaj Party, has been a notable presence. He recently claimed that a video circulated by his opponents was created using artificial intelligence, alleging manipulation to mislead voters. The Election Commission has not commented on the matter.

The bypoll is seen as a test of political strength in the region, with all parties deploying their top leaders to sway voters.
