Bengaluru medical shop owner murder: Six arrested in revenge killing
The Madiwala police in Bengaluru have arrested six individuals in connection with the murder of Suhail, a medical shop owner, who was hacked to death at a traffic signal on Saturday night. The accused have been identified as Adil, a resident of Bandepalya with a criminal record, and his associates Yasin, Abbas, Afivuallah, Shaan, and Syed Farhan.
According to police, the murder took place in full public view at the Madiwala traffic signal around 10:30 pm. The victim was intercepted by an armed gang and attacked with sharp weapons. He was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.
Preliminary investigations suggest the murder was an act of revenge. Police allege that Adil, the prime accused, orchestrated the killing to avenge the death of his friend Shabbir, who was murdered in the Bandepalya police station limits in January. Investigators suspect that Suhail had provided financial assistance for Shabbir's murder, and that his brothers were also involved in that killing. This, they believe, prompted Adil to plan Suhail's murder as retaliation.
Police also suspect that Suhail had threatened his associates with violence against Adil, which may have escalated the feud.
After the attack, the accused reportedly planned to flee to Mumbai. However, acting on a tip-off, the Madiwala police tracked them down and arrested all six before they could leave the city. The accused are currently being questioned to establish their individual roles in the murder and the sequence of events leading up to it.
Senior police officers stated that the investigation is ongoing and that they are gathering evidence, including CCTV footage from the area, to corroborate the statements of the accused. The police have also not ruled out the involvement of others in the conspiracy.
Local residents have expressed shock over the brazen attack, which occurred in a busy area. The police have assured the public that strict action will be taken against those involved.
