Bengaluru: FIR filed against crèche staff for alleged physical abuse of children at IT company facility

The HAL police have registered a case against the in-charge and several caregivers of a crèche operating inside an IT company within the HAL police station limits. The case was registered following allegations of physical abuse and cruelty towards children of IT employees.

The case was registered at the HAL Police Station under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, based on a complaint filed by Tilakesh Kumar.

According to the complaint, the alleged incidents took place on June 25. The complainant alleged that the crèche staff, including the in-charge and caregivers, subjected children to physical and mental abuse. Specific allegations include beating, dragging, forceful handling, confining children inside a washroom, pouring water on them, and other forms of physical assault.

The complaint also stated that videos showing children crying were circulated on WhatsApp, bringing the alleged abuse to light. Further investigation is underway.
