Army Recruitment Rally in Vizag from Sept 3: 10,355 Candidates to Participate

The Indian Army will conduct a recruitment rally at the Indira Priyadarshini Stadium in Visakhapatnam from September 3 to 20. According to official figures, 10,355 candidates who have cleared the written examination are expected to participate in the rally.

Visakhapatnam District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore held a meeting at the Collectorate on Monday to review preparatory work for the event. He directed officials to ensure all necessary facilities, including transport, power supply, closed-circuit television cameras, public address systems, and information technology support for the candidates.

As part of the rally, a 1.6-kilometre night run will be organised from near the Kali Mata temple on RK Beach Road to the Victory at Sea War Memorial. About 800 candidates are scheduled to take part in the run each day. The Collector instructed officials to make arrangements for traffic regulation, police security, barricading, lighting, and drinking water along the route.

District officials have also been directed to provide medical teams, ambulances, mobile toilets, accommodation, generators, waterproof tents, and other essential facilities at the stadium. The physical fitness tests for the candidates will be conducted at the venue, and all necessary arrangements must be in place ahead of the event.

The recruitment rally is part of the Indian Army's ongoing process to select eligible candidates for various ranks. The written examination was conducted earlier, and candidates who qualified will now undergo physical and medical tests during the rally. The event is expected to draw participants from across the region, making adequate preparation crucial for a smooth and fair process.

Local authorities have urged candidates to follow official instructions and keep abreast of any updates regarding the schedule. The rally is an important opportunity for young aspirants seeking a career in the armed forces, and the district administration is committed to ensuring a transparent and well-organised event.
